Pokemon Excell School:
I don't own pokemon, but I do own Joe and Cici.
Chapter One:
"Bye!" Caroline called after her daughter.
"Bye mom!" May Maple called back over her shoulder as she ran into the school building.
May was being sent to boarding school. The school was called Pokemon Excell school, and it was for pokemon gym challengers, breeders, and coordinaters. You would learn things to help you on your journey. Some of the people there had already traveled a bit, but most of them hadn't, and would start around age 20 or so. Each person had at least one pokemon, and might catch more in the forest near the school.
May hurried into the crowd of kids in the auditorium. They were milling around, looking for their roomates and their rooms. May's room number was 195.
"S'cuse me!" She called into the din of shouting voices. "195? 195?"
"Over here!" she heard a girl call. She saw a hand waving a sign that said '195,' and began to make her way through the crowd. She tripped numerous times on the way to the sign, but made it there in one piece.
A slightly skinny, red headed girl, in jean shorts and a yellow tanktop was holding the sign, and standing on a chair. "Hi!" she said. "I'm Misty Waterflower, a gym challenger. This is my second year here."
"I'm May Maple, a coordinator. This'll be my first year. So, who else is in our room?" May asked.
Misty pointed to a girl who looked half asleep. "Jet lag," Misty explained "she's from Sinnoh."
"mmm...." the girl stretched, and then smiled at May. "I'm Dawn Hikari, a coordinator, in my first year." She had blue black hair, blue eyes, and a white and pink ski cap. She wore a skirt dress kind of thing, and had a poketech on her wrist.
"We should have two other people with us," Misty said. As she said that an older looking girl walked up. She had brownish hair and was wearing a tan jacket over her skirt.
"Hi, I'm Soledad Saori," she said. "Training to be a coordinator. This will be my third year here, but I haven't been here for two years."
The last girl walked over a minute later. She had long pale pink hair and a light grey mini skirt with a white top that said 'Angel' in pale pink cursive. Her eyes were light grey, and huge round and sparkling.
"Hi," she said. "I'm Cici Carmen! I want to be a Pokemon Master! This'll be my first year here!" Her smile didn't match her looks, because it was determined and mischievous, where as she looked young and sweet. Unless she smiled you could never imagine her pranking anyone, or being mean to anyone, or doing anything brave, or anything against the rules.
"Hi," they all said.
"Come on," Misty told them, climbing down from the chair. "Let's go to our room!" She picked up her medium sized, ocean blue suitcase with a horsea on it, and the others followed her with their bags. Dawn had two huge suitcases, both pink, one with Piplup, the other with a Shinx on it. Soledad had a tan suitcase with a Lapras on it, a bit smaller than one of Dawn's. May's suitcase was a bit larger than Misty's and was red with a Torchic on the front. Cici's suitcase was about the size of one of Dawn's and was pale pink with a Meganium on it.
The room was quite a ways away from the auditorium, so they had plenty of time to talk. "I'm from Littleroot, Hoenn," May said. "My dad is Norman Maple, the Petalburg gym leader. My little brother Max will be coming here next year."
"Cool!" Misty said. "My sisters are the Cerulean gym leaders, Daisy, Violet, and Lily, and sometimes I get to battle the challengers too. My sisters sent me here after I tried to run away and go become the best water pokemon trainer in the world. I actually thanked them for it," she grinned. "I barely ever thank them.... They get on my nerves a lot."
"My mom was a top coordinator," Dawn said. "She gave me her first ribbon for luck."
"I've been in the grand festival twice," Soledad told them. "My mom was a Gym Challenger, and she almost won the league in the Orange Islands."
"My dad was the Johto League champion before some kid beat him. The kid had caught a Rayquaza in Hoenn and then used it to beat the Johto league....." Cici said, laughing. "It was funny to see the faces of the league, they were so surprised to have been beaten by this kid, no one had even beaten the first of the elite four in so long, much less all four and the champion."
By the time they were done chatting about their lives before school, they had reached their room. They went inside and looked around. There were five beds, all with white sheets and black comforters. There were five computers, all very new and expensive. A large flatscreen TV with a DVD player and VCR was placed against one wall, and a big couch and two lounge chairs were in front of it. There was one bathroom, and a small fridge in the corner of the room. The room's walls were painted cream, and the wood was unpainted cedar. There were three windows, and it was on the second story, looking out onto the main battlefield, which was empty right now.
There were drawers under their beds for their clothes, and they began to stow away their clothing. When they were done they lay back on their beds comparing the schedules that had been sent to them in the mail. Misty read hers first. "Algebra one, basic pokemon care, type advantages class, lunch, water pokemon specials, advanced battling, literature, and music."
"This is mine," May said. "Pair Coordinating, basic pokemon care, pokeblock making, lunch, Algebra one, Contest Battling, Music, and Literature. So, we have Basic Pokemon Care together, Misty." Pair coordinating was learning how to do appeals using two pokemon.
"Mine's this," Dawn said "Battling Technique, Advanced Pokemon Technology, basic pokemon care, lunch, Algebra Two, advanced literature, Visual arts, and Appeals."
"Geometry, type advantages, cute pokemon specials, lunch, literature, arts and crafts, and advanced battling," Cici said.
"Advanced appeals, Geometry, advanced visual arts, lunch, advanced contest battling, advanced pokeblock making, and advanced literature," Soledad said.
"Woah Soledad, you're in a bunch of advanced classes," May said.
"It is my third year, plus I've been traveling. Dawn's got some good ones too. But why are you in Battling Technique, Dawn? I thought that was for Gym Challengers."
"My mom requested it, because she thought it would help my pokemon get stronger. They're really cute, but not that strong yet," Dawn explained.
"What are you guys' teams?" Misty asked.
"Come out everyone!" May called out, throwing her two pokeballs. Out came a Torchic and a Silcoon.
"Here's my team!" Cici said, throwing two pokeballs. Her two were Chikorita and Cleffa.
"Spotlight!" Dawn shouted, freeing two pokemon, Piplup and Shix.
"Go, Lapras, Slobro, Girafarig!" Soledad said.
Misty called out her team last. "Go, my water pokemon!" she called out. Her pokemon were Goldeen, Staryu, and Psyduck. Psyduck began to wander around the room. "psy ai ay ay? Psy?" He asked.
"Urgh...." Misty groaned. "I don't know why I don't leave this one at my sisters gym...." They let the pokemon wander around their room as they talked.
"So May," Misty asked "do you have a crush on anyone from your home?"
"No," May said, "but my friends keep telling me that my best friend and neighbor, Brendan Birch, son of Professor Birch, likes me. And then there's this boy named Wally. He's kinda annoying, the way he acts like a lost, weak little puppy. He seems to like me, but I don't like him. What about the rest of you?"
Dawn spoke up first. "When Twineleaf was invaded by Team Galactic when I was little there was this boy with a Chimchar who tried to save me. I never learned his name, and I can't remember his face, but I've liked him ever since. We put up quite a fight, me and Shinx, and him and Chimchar. In fact, we beat eight of their grunts before someone came to help us and we got to safety. He didn't live in Twineleaf so he left the city, and I never saw him again."
"Aw, cute," Misty said. "I don't like anyone, and no one liked me."
"I don't really like anyone, I was too busy competing the last couple years," Soledad said.
Last to speak was Cici. "Nope, I don't like anyone, although people kept teasing me and this one annoying, idiotic, evil, horrible, terrible, disgusting, rude, jerk, and saying that we liked each other. Actually we hate each other. I haven't seen him for the past couple years, and am quite glad about it." She was growling as she spoke, and the others decided they didn't want to know what kinds of punishments the teasers recieved.
They chatted about random stuff, their favourite TV shows, favourite books, all that sort of stuff, until it was time to meet their pair room. "Pair rooms are the rooms that you do special activities and stuff with," Misty told them. "The other room will be boys, in an attempt to 'bridge the gender gap.'" They all rolled their eyes. "Not my words," Misty said. "That's what Ms. Fantina says. At least I THINK thats what she says, her accent is too strong to be totally sure. She might be saying 'Bruise the wenderwhap,' but I doubt it. The pair room thing is okay, you just hang out with them and ignore them if they're boring."
BANG!
"Psyduck!" Misty complained as her Psyduck whammed into the TV. "Ugh... Psyduck, return." Psyduck was captured by the red light, and then he returned to his pokeball which Misty put in her little red backpack.
"Maybe we should all return our pokemon," Soledad said, seeing May's torchic about to use ember on the couch, and Dawn's shinx about to shock the computers.
"Return Torchic, Silcoon!" May stowed her pokeballs in the yellow bag around her waist.
"Shinx, Piplup, return!" Dawn's backpack was black and pink.
"Return Goldeen, Staryu," Misty said.
"Return, Girafarig, Lapras, Slobro!" Soledad said, then putting the pokeballs into her small tan backpack.
"Return Cleffa, Chikorita!" Cici said, putting them in her light grey and pink backpack.
"Our pair room is 196," Misty read from the paper. "So they'd be right across the hall." They headed out of their room to go meet their pair room.
